People, process and a little Louisiana grit.

We are a regional engineering firm, deliberately staffed with senior PEs and field-tested designers — not a body shop. Our work shows up everywhere from sugar mills to school campuses.

Swatis Engineering team
Our story

Built around accountability.

Robert Wyatt founded Swatis Engineering in 2009 after fifteen years in EPC project engineering for the petrochemical industry. The first office was a converted clinic in Sorrento. Today the same team works out of the same building — now expanded — alongside satellite presence in Baton Rouge and Lake Charles.

We grew by referral. Every new market — bridges, K-12, water/wastewater — started with a client we already knew asking us to follow them into the next problem.

How we work

Four habits that show up in every project.

1

Site first, software second

Every project gets a real site visit before drawings start. CAD models are confirmed against what is actually there.

2

One PE owns it

A principal engineer is assigned to every job and signs every deliverable. No revolving door of project managers.

3

Construction-aware design

Senior staff have field backgrounds. We design what can actually be built — and built safely.

4

Stay through closeout

We are still on the job at punch list. RFIs, submittals and as-builts are included by default, not extras.

Leadership

Robert Wyatt, PE

Founder & Principal Engineer. Louisiana PE #28447. BSCE from LSU, MSCE from Tulane. Past chair of the Ascension Parish ASCE chapter and a board member of the Louisiana Engineering Society.

Outside the office, Robert spends weekends fly-fishing the Atchafalaya basin and coaching little league in Gonzales.
